Lost and Found Case 1
One snowy day, while Mrs. Wolf was out, she noticed that her diamond wedding ring had slipped off her finger and was missing. She chanted Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo and searched back and forth along the road she had taken but could not find it. Her hands started to freeze, so she went back to the car to warm up. In the car, she told Nichiren Daishonin Buddha:
“It’s my precious wedding ring, and if I lose it, I’ll be in big trouble!”
She desperately prayed to the Daishonin.
Just as she was about to get out of the car to start looking for it, a vision came into her mind. It was in the opposite direction from where she had been searching.
“Daishonin-sama…you mean I’m supposed to look THERE?”
Wondering, she went to that place and scooped up the snow from the road with her hands. She found the diamond ring!
Lost and Found Case 2
When Mrs. Wolf returned from walking her dog, she noticed that the diamond necklace she had been wearing was missing. It was a gift from her husband for their 20th wedding anniversary! Pale and puzzled, she continued to look for it in the park and along the street, with the help of her daughter, but could not find it.
She remembered that the diamond ring had been found by chanting, so she chanted with her daughter.
“As I finished chanting, and stood up to start searching again, a vision entered my mind. It was the garage.”
“Garage? I haven’t used the car today.” Mrs. Wolf started looking in the garage with her daughter, despite her doubt. Then… she found the necklace under the car!
Lost and Found Case 3
Mrs. Wolf works with the cleaning staff at a hospital. She needs to wear an ID card all times since she is moving throughout the building. Due to the current difficulty in obtaining the chip attached to the ID, her supervisor said, “Don’t ever lose it!”
She keeps her ID card in the same place in her bag after work to make sure it doesn’t get lost.
The other day, she couldn’t find her ID card, so she talked to the supervisor and got a replacement pass, but it restricted her mobility in the hospital and put a strain on her work. She continued to search the house while chanting but couldn’t find it. She was starting to worry.
She again remembered that she had found her ring and necklace by chanting before.
“No worry, Nichiren Daishonin will help me find it again!” She prayed earnestly, believing in the Daishonin. Then a vision of her black jacket came into her mind.
“That heavy jacket? I haven’t worn it that much, but if you say so.”
She went to the closet and looked inside the jacket, and to her surprise, there was the ID!! Yay!!:)
