Harumi’s story
I am the second generation of Japanese war orphans left in China. I came back to Japan from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region in 1989. In November 2014, while I was attending vocational training school, I met Ms. Miura from Kensho-kai and was told about Buppo (Nichiren Daishonin Buddha’s Law).
Even though I do not understand Japanese, chanting Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo had a positive impact on my life.
My son, who is attending college and is an introvert, started a part-time job. He got his driver’s license and started job hunting aggressively for his future career after graduation. I am happy that chanting has affected my son’s life!
On my way to work, there was a steep hill that takes more than 30 minutes by bike and made me exhausted. I was reluctant to purchase a motorcycle because the price was so high. Then one day, my relative called me and said “I just bought a new motorcycle” and gave me his old one! Unbelievable! Perfect timing!
Learning Buppo little by little, my daily prayers have become fresh and sincere.
I learned that Nichiren Daishonin Buddha left for us The Honmon Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon (Nichiren Daishonin’s soul written in ink) to gain unbreakable happiness. Chanting Namyo Ho Ren Ge Kyo toward The Honmon Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon (treasured in Mt.Fuji) every morning and night is the foundation of our faith.
These three facts that are undeniable:
Nichiren Daishonin Buddha’s three facts are:
1. The purpose of life is achieving unbreakable happiness (Jobutsu)
2. Rissho Ankoku Ron (Nichiren Daishonin’s writing that was submitted to Shogun Hojo Tokiyori) has become real.
3. Tatsunokuchi persecution – The power of the government could not behead Nichiren Daishonin.
Above all, whoever practices Nichiren Daishonin’s teaching, will erase bad Karma and turn their life around. I was impressed that there is proof of Jobutsu and the appearance can be seen on ones deathbed.
Since then I start sharing the power of Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo to others. Some people listen, some refuse and some run away. Despite being ignored by many people, I felt good and kept going.
Finally, in May of 2018, my mother and two sisters started chant Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo with me! And the following week, my mother voluntarily attended Sunday prayer with my younger brother!
I was so happy that I was able to save my mother who had been struggling for a long time. Now she is in the hands of the True Buddha! Nichiren Daishonin!
During the Sino-Japanese War, my mother, her two brothers and her parents were sent to Manchuria by the Japanese government.
The war ended when my mother was nine years old. When the family was preparing to return to Japan, Russian soldiers burst into my mother’s place, and killed her whole family and all the Japanese people who were there.
My mother survived after being kicked 3 times by Russian soldiers. She pretended to be dead. She waited until it got dark and hid in the coal mine. After 3 days, she was saved by a Chinese family who was passing by, fed my mother and took her into their home. The family was so poor that my mother could not go to school so she worked every day.
I studied as hard as I could do so I can help my parents. They had a hard time and I wanted to make sure that they lived safely for the rest of their lives.
When I was 12 years old, there was a bad disease that had spread in our village. My classmate who sat next to me died. Whoever survived remained disabled.
I became sick and the doctor told us that I could not make it. I cried and said to my mother “I don’t want to die!”
My mother borrowed 200 Yuan ($30) from the village chief, and she took me to the hospital in the city of Luoyang (located in the west of Henan province). After a month, I returned to the village. Everyone was surprised to see me alive! They said “You’re alive? We thought you wouldn’t make it!”
When I look back, I now know the reason why my mother and I miraculously survived. We had to be found by Nichiren Daishonin Buddha and gain unbreakable happiness.
I was impressed by Mr. Min who is practicing Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo in China. He persisted in his faith toward Nichiren Daishonin even though the Communist party of China were watching him.
He protected his prayer beads and the appointment from Asai sensei. He risked his life.
Imagine how difficult it was to keep his faith in this situation.I respect him and I am moved to tears.
After I received the appointment of Kumicho from Asai Sensei, I am fulfilling an important mission and I feel excitement from the bottom of my heart.
I want to share with all my Chinese and Japanese friends this powerful medicine that changes our lives from the core of our soul.
