My son was a victim of fraud, and he went through hell.
Megumi Kurita’s story.
I was 22 when I got married and had a son.
However, when my husband’s gambling debts were discovered, I divorced him at the age of 26. I raised my son on my own.
My son started chanting Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo with Kenshokai as soon as he entered high school. However, after he graduated and went to Tokyo to find a job, he stopped praying because he was too busy with work.
It was very difficult to get in touch with him. He never responded to me and I lost all communication with him this year.
Asai Sensei taught us that the global hyper-inflation and the food crisis are signs of an “unprecedented war,” World War III, which is now approaching.
I was so worried about my son’s future if I didn’t do something about it. So I called his company to check on him.
My son’s boss gave me shocking news.
My son was involved in fraud, and to pay the money back, he started gambling and accumulated a lot of debt. He was working day and night to pay it off. That’s why he was unable to contact me.
My chest tightened when I heard about this. I wanted to fly to his place in Tokyo right away!
However, as a nursing care worker during the pandemic, it would have been extremely difficult for me to go to Tokyo. Also, what could I do if I went there?
The relationship between parents and children is also due to Karma.
I remembered Asai Sensei’s guidance:
“If parents change their own destiny with strong faith, their children will also change.”
Now is the time to entrust everything to Nichiren Daishonin, to throw myself into the task of Kosenrufu, and to show my commitment to the Daishonin! I have no choice but to change my fate!
We can receive good luck because of our Yo-Hai Gongyo prayer. We pray toward the Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon (in Mt. Fuji) where Nichiren Daishonin’s soul is infused.
I seriously read again the “Instructions for the Yo-Hai Gongyo Prayer” on the first page of the prayer book.
The 26th High Priest Nikkan Shonin stated the benefits of the Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon:
“The benefits from the Gohonzon are limitless, and the work is immeasurable and unfathomable. Therefore, if you chant Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo toward Gohonzon even once, your prayer will never go unanswered, and no sin will remain unforgiven.
All good fortune will be bestowed upon you and justice will prevail.”
Every sentence, especially “No prayer will never go unanswered” filled my heart. I felt so much gratitude that I bursted into tears.
I realized that I did not need to do anything on my own at all, just to have strong faith in the Gohonzon-sama.
By relying on the Gohonzon-sama as a pillar and yearning for it, all the anxiety about the endless desert-like uncertainty of the future instantly vanished!
Tears started welling up every time I prayed. I felt that the Daishonin was protecting my body and soul.
Is this what it means to have a heart-to-heart with the Daishonin? I was filled with so much joy!
Then exciting things started happening, such as a Soka Gakkai (SGI) member joining Kenshokai because he wanted to chant the correct way. I was happy that this will lead him to unbreakable happiness. I also received a call from a team member who had not contacted me in 10 years!
Then, out of the blue, I received a call from someone who said he knew my son.
The person was a vendor for my son’s company and when he saw him looking sad and listless, he approached him without a second thought.
As a matter of fact, in addition to my son’s debt problems, he was being harassed at work. He had no freedom, couldn’t contact anyone, and was threatened with a knife if he didn’t do what they said!
The vendor had heard my son talk about committing suicide, and wanted to help, so he reached out to me.
The vendor also introduced him to a job where he could make use of his experience. He was able to move to a new company with a higher salary! It helped him pay off his debts!!
In addition, my son was given relocation money which allowed him to leave the former company’s housing and rent an apartment. My son was also given items he needed to live on his own.
The vendor said “Your son’s expression has changed, he’s smiling, and he’s positive. You can get in touch with him from now on!”
I was amazed that such a wondrous thing could happen! The Daishonin protected my son from everything! His life has changed forever, and I realized that my prayer and Shakubuku has passed on to him.
I cried with gratitude, understanding that those who believe in Nichiren Daishonin’s Buppo are never at a dead end.
The other day I was able to talk to my son on the phone for the first time in a while.
He said:
“What I have experienced was punishment for abandoning Nichiren Daishonin. But I’ve been able to change my life because of you Mom! I am truly sorry to the Daishonin. I will never leave Asai Sensei and Kenshokai again!”
He has repented for what he has done and is now able to pray daily.
Later, I was told that when he was unable to contact me, he was approached by a Kenshokai member at Yokohama station who encouraged him to chant Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo!
Knowing that wherever my son was, the Daishonin was watching over him. I truly felt the Buddha’s great compassion and mercy.
Having been saved by the Daishonin, my son and I can teach the true solution to parents and children who are suffering..
I will teach them that the root cause of their suffering can change by chanting Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo, which leads to the Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon.
I am filled with gratitude to Asai Sensei, who risked his life to protect Nichiren Daishonin’s last will and testament. Because of Asai Sensei, we can connect with Daishonin’s soul (The Kaidan no Dai Gohonzon).
As someone who knows that the true happiness of the world depends on the realization of the Buddha nation in Japan (Kosenrufu), I will put my whole heart and soul into my mission under Asai Sensei’s leadership.
