What should be learned above all else
I, Nichiren, studied Buddhism from a young age, yet I had a long-cherished wish. That is, no one knows when their life will end. How wise or young you are makes no difference.
That is precisely because one must first learn about death—which inevitably comes to all—before learning anything else. Life offers much to learn, but above all else, the matter of death must be resolved as the top priority.-Nichiren Daishonin
