Those of intermediate ability awaken to enlightenment after one day, one month, or even one year after hearing about Buppo.At the very last moment, when death approaches, the person of inferior ability awakens as if from a dream. The delusions and attachments to money, the vanity of the world, or twisted feelings like hatred for someone or affection for another—all vanish without a trace.
In the same way that rice is harvested within the year—whether the early-maturing “Wase” stage, the mid-season “Naka” stage, or the late-harvested “Oku” stage—so too, though the spiritual capacities of believers differ, they will all attain Jobutsu within their lifetime.
